Improvement
Improved error responses for edge cases in the file transfer API. Notably, a transfer request that arrives with an empty body now returns a clear HTTP 400 with a documented reason, rather than a generic server error. This makes integration issues easier to diagnose on the Salesforce side. The release may also include other small hardening items as they finalise.
Details
- What changed: Put and Append requests that arrive with an empty body now return HTTP 400 with a structured error response identifying the cause as an empty body. Previously these returned an HTTP 500 server error, which was harder for Salesforce-side integrations to interpret.
- Why: Clearer error responses let integrators identify upstream extraction issues (such as a Salesforce-side batch that produced no rows) without having to inspect server-side logs.
- Customer impact: No change for any integration that already sends a non-empty body. Integrations that legitimately need to upload zero-byte marker files can request support to enable that path; contact us if needed.
- Regions: All 10 production regions.
- User action: None required for typical integrations.

Hotfix
Defence added for an internal AWS credential that, in rare circumstances, was reported as valid but had already expired. The defect could cause a small number of file transfer requests in a single region to return HTTP 500 until the affected compute container was recycled by AWS. The permanent fix detects the condition, refreshes the credential, retries the request automatically, and emits an alerting signal for our operations team so any future occurrence is identified within minutes rather than at customer report time.
Details
- What changed: The AWS credential provider now (a) detects when a credential just received from the broker is already at or past expiry and forces a refresh, and (b) wraps AWS SDK calls so that if AWS rejects a credential mid-request, the credential is refreshed and the request retried once automatically before any error reaches the caller.
- Why: A small number of transfers in a single region returned HTTP 500 for approximately 30 minutes on 1 June 2026 because a long-running compute container kept presenting an already-expired credential. This change prevents recurrence.
- Customer impact: No data exposure or data loss. Failed transfers returned HTTP 500 to the calling system and could be retried.
- Regions: All 10 production regions.
- User action: None required.

Maintenance
Mandatory upgrade of all Lambda functions from .NET 6 to .NET 8. AWS ended support for .NET 6 in November 2024. Each region will have a brief maintenance window; see schedule below. A new us-west-2 (Oregon) region is planned for a future release.

- What changed: Lambda runtime upgraded from dotnet6 to dotnet8; no functional changes to the API.
- Why: .NET 6 reached AWS end-of-support November 2024. Continued operation on an unsupported runtime represents a security and reliability risk.
- Regions upgraded: ap-south-1, eu-north-1, eu-west-2, ap-southeast-1, ap-southeast-2, eu-central-1, us-east-1. us-west-1 already updated 17 May 2026.
- New region (coming soon): us-west-2 (Oregon) is planned for a future release and is not part of this upgrade.
- eu-central-1 second function: The
FTP2SF_Function_URL_Auth function remains in active production service and is upgraded to .NET 8 alongside the others in this release. It is not being decommissioned.
- Expected downtime: Approximately 15–30 minutes per region during the maintenance window.
- User action: None required. Existing configurations and credentials are unaffected.
